...From the M6:
Follow A454 towards Wolverhampton. After Portobello Roundabout continue along A454 dual carriageway, next set of lights is Nechells Lane. (BP garage on Right corner) Turn Right (Nechells Pub on Left) continue along Nechells Lane past big builders yard, over railway bridge - past 30mph speed camera - past small independent garage on Right, follow road for approx 150 yds, see JENKS AND CATTELL on Left. Next gate way is entrance to BUDGET TYRE.
This really deserves a mention, it's a smallish garage which deals with all makes.
They, as the name suggests, deal with tyres and exhausts as their main work but, are more than willing and certainly competent to tackle all work.
The two main guys are Andy and Gordon, a really likeable duo who, between them, have a wealth of experience and knowledge.
They also MOT cars there.
I went for an exhaust estimate recently and their price, including fitting, was only £10 more expensive than the price of the after market exhaust system online (and you have to post etc on top).
Got a few estimates for other soon to completed work:
Cambelt exchange = New cambelt, waterpump, tensioner etc job done = £220
(They need the car all day, so be prepared to drop it at 9 and pick it up at 5ish)
I'll need my clutch done soon - its started to judder - but I want to see what my insurance says about it first. If I get a choice as to who does the work, then it'll be going down Nechells Lane.
(If anyone knows of better service I'd like to hear about it, cos I think I've found the best)
