Technical Bubbles wont start...again

So I got the new fuel pump fitted a few days ago. The problem is still there. The engine wants to die when there is throttle.

The engine stays alive with the choke on when I giving it gas while i'm in the garage. But can't stay idling with the choke on.

What should I try next everyone?

Thanks,
Frank

Frank,

I was going to suggest prayer as we seem to have covered everything else. It's always easier to sort these problems when you are looking, listening and feeling and it can be very difficult from half a world away.

The footage you posted a while ago certainly sounds like fuel starvation and at the moment I'm afraid I'm out of ideas - sorry.

You may have to take it to a mechanic :(

Frank;
This may sound daft, but I think you are going to have to go back to absolute basics--try this:- rig the carb up to a remote fuel-tank that supplies fuel direct to the carb; this way you will eliminate the complete fuel supply system, tank, filters and pump. If the fault is still apparent then it is possibly the carb. If the fault is rectified, then connect the remote tank to the inlet of the fuel pump etc, etc. :bang:

After the upper half carb rebuild, the engine still dies when i give gas after decel.

I don't quite understand this comment. Did you remove the carburetor, completely disassemble it and soak it and blow out and clean all passages? I don't understand the comment of upper half rebuild.

If the engine dies when accelerating it is either not getting gas or there is a vacuum leak. Did you check and reset the float level in the carburetor? Is the mixture set correctly? What do the spark plugs look like now? Did you set the ignition timing?

To check for vacuum leaks, you can spray some starting fluid around the base of the carburetor. If the engine rpm increases you have a leak.

If you were closer I would look at it for you.

It is alive. Drove around the neighborhood a few times and it is back to business.

I recleaned the main jet and seemed to have solved it. I cleaned it last time when during the top half of the carb.

I rebuilt the top end of the carb with the quick repair kit.

Yep that'll do it. Glad to hear that Bubbles is once again up and around.

Sometime soon you need to remove the carby entirely and as John has advised, give it a thorough soaking and cleaning in your favorite carby cleaning gunk remover. Like John, I thought that you had done this.

If your main jet blocked once, it may block again.

everything seems to be working with the fuel filter being full due to new pump and I put the boot lid back on.

I will drive it ro work and run errands with it on thursday.
