Christ.. Only just calmed down!

Last Monday I took the day of work and me and my girlf where going out for the day. Coming down a long straight, I decided to boot it, and see what i could get (for the 899cc top speed topic)..

Anyway.. a sharp hill ducks down into the road ahead of me.. so.. i eagerly floor it.. the hill gives the car about 90 ish and i see a corner coming up..

I braked as hard as i could as a corner was approaching. The car ducked down and the rear got sooo light, and started skippy from side to side. I almost lost the backend and could have injured or killed both me and my girlfriend.. I've slowed down alot now.. just a warning to you lot...

;)

Last week I came close to losing my Cinq too. Going up a hill at about 30/40mph, then as I hit the top to come down it I hit a puddle. Aqua-plained badly and the back end slid out nastily. After about 10 seconds of swerving and almost hitting the kerb (which would have rolled me I'm sure of it) I got control of it again.

yes it felt good once I had control again, but I drove home really slowly for the rest of the journey :)

isn't it great how they jus hang on so you can egain control [8D] i hit a HUGE pudle(more like a lake) @ 60 coming out on the main road outta my town it pulled towards the kerb i had 2 pull against it and it shot across the road jus missing the yellow crossing bollards but the didn't spin or skid out jus made a really big splash :D

I wrote off my /cough/Fiesta/cough/ in January. In Nootigham there is a Ford and I floored it and it was iced over and I kinda flew in to a ditch. Still here to tell the story. The car isn't obviously. After that I decided to get a proper a car. A CINQ!!!:D:D

With regards to near misses; they are useful to remind us how dangerous driving can be, especially when 'pressing on' as my old dad used to say.:D It is also good to remind ourselves how difficult it can be to get things back once they've got out of shape and how difficult it is to stop a car once the traction is broken. The most educational (and expensive) thing I've ever done is stick my ZX6R in the hay bales at Cadwell Park. You don't realise how fast 70mph is until you're sliding along on your arse next to your bike!

Still, glad everyone is okay and lives to fight another day. BTW Digimods, how long was it before your missus would talk to you again?;)

Slow in... fast out!
