What do folk use?

I use Firefox and have done for years but it seems that more and more annoying issues are popping up, feels a bit slow and clunky these days so i'm thinking of switching to Chrome

Is it any good? are there better options out there? I'm a bit of a creature of habit and take badly with changing over browser etc, took me ages to get used to firefox over IE, so hopefully the general feel of it is kinda similar

I've always seen chrome as a slimmer faster Firefox, I'm sure it was developed on a similar platform. Either way I use chrome IMO thee best browser I've tried by far

I use opera. Just out of preference as it had the first full CSS2 support (IIRC) (Those were the days) :)

I'm another chrome user. I did have a wee meltdown with it a few weeks back when I accidentally deleted some of my favourites icons on the laptop. At that point I tried to switch to FF but found it slow and in fact clunky is exactly how I would describe it. I use thunderbird for the store email and it's also slow. New messages (not that there's many as no-one is buying anything atm) take ages to come through compared with Hotmail and Outlook

Luckily I solved my chrome problem by uninstalling and reinstalling and I now have my favourite quick tab icon thingies back. It even kept my bookmarks which I'm well impressed by

Finally snapped with Firefox tonight after it randomly decided to not let me type on certain sites and plugins just randomly deciding to crash through it, so downloaded Chrome.

Tried switching to chrome, i hated it tbh.

Nothing that fundamentally wrong with it as an out and out browser, and probably with patience i'd have adapted but i found quite a few things very user unfriendly, the whole window/favourite tab thing in particular was laughably bad, perhaps i'm doing something wrong but if i set page as a favourite (for example FS), then viewed a thread, it was automatically resetting my favorite to the thread page rather than the forum. And if i went on another site from there (say... Ebay) on that tab, it would then reset the favourite in that tab permanently to Ebay and i'd have lost FS entirely from my history. No matter how it was set, favorites, bookmarks etc it changed at will depending on what was viewed and couldn't re-set.

The only way to avoid it was to set it as a favorite then open another tab, so to make it easy to flick between sites i use most, i need them all open and can't view another site on that tab without losing it.

Then that creates another issue.... You're visible online because you have it open at all times so it thinks you are on it. So for example, Facebook chat... I'd get messages and not know about it until i went on that tab again, and because of how the tabs are set up, it doesn't alert you visually that you have messages on that "closed" tab.

And it was even more unstable than Firefox.

Binned it and i'm back on FF. Weirdly it seems to be working well again, a touch quicker and hasn't crashed once since i flirted with changing to Chrome

Honestly, I've not had an issue with Chrome since I switched. Maybe it's because I don't delve into the inner workings of browsers that much but honestly, it's been fine. Yeah, my PC laughs at a ridiculous amount of tabs being open but apart from that, no issue. I just had so many issues with FF even though I adored all the add-ons and the like I had. At one time, I even had a Futurama theme...then it became obsolete :( Auch well.
