Broken headlight re-alignment

Does anyone have experience of headlight alignment? Specifically how is it done?

Assuming the headlight is roughly aligned using the 2 mounting bolts is it then fine-tuned by adjusting something on the back which turns something inside the light itself?

The reason I ask is that one of the plastic mouting brackets on my headlight is broken and the headlight is loose. I want to fix it with epoxy before my MOT, but if they find the alignment needs adjusting I don't want them to look too closely at my repair, or break it.

I'd recommend trying to repair it then taking it to your local garage for an alignment. Heard its only £10-£15 to be sure its all ok before an MOT.

headlight adjustment

In the past, when my headlight has been out it was adjusted during the mot free. I don't know if they are allowed to do that with the new mots, I'll find out next week. Got to book mine in.Expires July 29th: Anybody know if you can still take the car 30 days before expiry?
