Hey all, I've acquired a proper Draeger breathaliser which reads out a measurment of alcohol in your breath per 100mg.

obviously to use it properly i need to know what the limit is in the UK, i've looked on the internet and most say 35mg per 100mg of breath, but many different sites are saying different things and it's getting confusing.

anyone know how this works? i've not had a drink since i got it so my readings have been zero.

cheers!

I'd rather just not drink at all when I got to drive.

I dont like having just the one drink so if I dont have any at all I wont be tempted

The Breath Test is a load of rubbish i have passed twice now when i shouldnt have.
The first was when i rolled my car i failed the roadside but passed the Station breathalyser with 21mg after 4 pints of snakebite throughout the day.

The the other day i got pulled after 4 pints during the day, no sleep, little food and a few drinks on the airplane (admitedly there had been over 8 hours since i got off the plane) and passed the roadside.
I have to say i did go home and change my underwear after as i like my licence now i have a job etc. I wont be doing that again in a hurry.

This.

For some reason, probably sensibility, I don't drink a drop if I know or think I may be driving later, regardless of how much. Not even half a pint.

As for the above. Knob.

Agree with a few of the others on here - if i'm driving I won't have a drop. If your that worried about being done for drink driving, that you have bought a breath test machine - would it not just be easier not to have a drink.

Not only that, but say if you have a pint or two when your out for a meal. 30 minuites later you pay the bill and head to the car and take your breath test. You may be under the limit but (and correct me if im wrong) not all of the alcohol will have been absored and therefore you could be over the limit later on in your drive.

Just simply, don't have a drop if driving. Personally I think the limit should be lowered - or a strict no drinking and driving. As it is now, people presume 'oh, I can have one pint' and possibly risk it abit - but it affects people in different ways. Some people can handle their alcohol whereas others (the lightweights) can't.
