First, the hydraulic system needs to bled of all of the air. Then, as far as I know on the later model cars, the four wheel drums are self adjusting.
The handbrake, or whatever you guys in the USA call it, has two adjustments. By loosening the four bolts in the cabin that retain the handbrake lever and then moving it back and forward, course adjustment is achieved and fine adjustment is via the tension in the cables at the rear of the car. The nuts on the cable ends can be screwed in or out and then locked.
