Technical break adjustment

end of week 1 sorting out my 72.
how do you adjust the breaks on these things ?

First, the hydraulic system needs to bled of all of the air. Then, as far as I know on the later model cars, the four wheel drums are self adjusting.

The handbrake, or whatever you guys in the USA call it, has two adjustments. By loosening the four bolts in the cabin that retain the handbrake lever and then moving it back and forward, course adjustment is achieved and fine adjustment is via the tension in the cables at the rear of the car. The nuts on the cable ends can be screwed in or out and then locked.

I had a real tight break one wheel and looks like I can slide that self adjuster all the way in and let it self adjust

Hello and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you may have a brake binding or sticking if it is just one wheel.

Could be a faulty brake cylinder or weak return springs.
