tried.. this mount is exclusive to the 1.2.. and there aint no 1.2's where i live im affraid.

because its a special order part, i had to pay via debit card as he ordered it.. so pointless now, its bought and paid for and on its way from italy!
its not the worst of the 2 mounts that are gone, so i think if we replace main one, and it holds, i can use the car and just replace the other one when it gets here.
i need the car to go back to uni with. and candice went back into the garage today to try and figure out whats up with her... im not having much luck really!

today i took hub assembly off the suspension, wishbone and steering and removed perished engine mount ready to replace new one tomorrow, then i gotta attach recon'd drive shaft and take her for a shake down! if she dont pop again, hurrah!!!
something else i did today, covered the centre console arm rest in black leather to match the rest of the front interior
ill get some pics tomorrow when its re attached.

turned into a RIGHT pain in the arse trying to get her fixed today.
what seemed like a simple job.. got harder and harder!
got old mount off.. and was like.. WTF?! theres a big bolt that goes up through the mount and has a thread all the way down. somehow it had a nut on the end.. and wasnt even the proper bolt that goes onto it.. it just looked totally wrong
the mount we got off a scrap bravo, has a bolt with thread for 1/4 of the bolt, and theres no nut.. so im guessing there might be something it needs to thread into IN the bit the bolt goes up into.. and maybe the previous cowboy lost it.. or it wasnt there.. or something and just bodged it.. probably why the whole thing has broken!!
so went to fiat and was like urrrrr, and he said the bolt was meant to thread into the mount.. but its not like that on the old mount or the new one.. turns out it looks like its the wrong mount ours was off a 1.4.. and looks like the mount that was on there is off a 1.4 too. i was proper confused!
but we managed to bodge something so i can drive the car, seeing as candice is looking to be more trouble by the day too. TWO mounts on order from fiat.. so ill be back oop north next weekend to fit the new mounts.. provided the car doesnt break before then

i said about 10 times in the other thread that you needed a bolt from fiat as that one was not a fiat bolt :bang:

it just doesnt bolt into anything!! thats the thing.. thats what got me confused!
and when we went to fiat to find out what crack was.. he said its just a bolt, and no nut.. it should apparently thread into the mount

yeah rubber bit of mount bolts into the body, then rest of mount bolts to that.

the big bolt with a little thread on end has to thread into something.. or else it will fall out.. so when we found nothing to thread it to.. was like it bolts onto bottom of car on both sides of metal big that rubber bit is in.. but other bolt no stay stuck to anything

theres no way you can get a nut on other end tho. cos the bolt goes up into a bit and you cant access the other end of the bolt once mount is on and stuff... which is why i was so confused when i found a nut on the end of the bolt on the old perished mount

Was me that fitted it after the old one snapped/broke/came loose/disapeared in the middle of a drive home from work. I drove the car home, had a look. Noticed the mount was the straight through type (like on a cinq/sei) and assumed it used a bolt/nut like a cinq does. Not being able to find the proper bolt where it broke, i just went to a hardware place and bought a suitable bolt for the setup I assumed it was. Put it on and it worked fine for the few weeks after until the HG went and since then the car didnt move until you bought it.
As for the mount being wrong... ive no idea. Its the mount that was on the car when I bought it so I assumed it was correct.
