I'd also like to add that Vauxhall might appear the good guys for recalling Astra's (which itself is news to me)

It wasn't official about the recall. When I spoke to Cleckheaton gearbox and clutch specialists the chap there told me that they'd been going round collecting the said boxes from vauxhall dealers. I'm only repeating what I was told. Don't shoot the messenger eh. Lol

A very helpful chap on the forum who goes by the username S130 or Nick looked under my bonnet once and commented that the gearbox was different what he had on his 1.9 Diesel Croma. How do you tag people into threads? Is it @s130? Did this work? Nick may be able to offer some clarification!

I assume that the Croma 1.9 would be an identical unit to the Bravo? Therefore meaning the 1.9 and 2.0 are using different gearboxes?

Oh no not at all. I was just putting across my frustration that if there had been a recall, Vauxhall didn't do a very good job. But nothing personal at all (y)

This would appear to be the case. They seemed to change gearboxes when they moved from the 1.9 150 to 2.0 165 Multijet in the Bravo.
