Hi there

does anyone have any recommendations for front tyres on my bravo. Mine are getting low and I drive fast but not on the limit so to speak. I am
not interested in the eco Tyre types that get great MPG at the expense of not getting around roundabouts in the wet but would like a good blend of grip and long life.

any ideas anyone ???

thanks Paul

I get mine from tyreshopper.com
They have customer reviews, and handling capability etc
All 4 corners on the multi cost me 180 inc fitting, balance and disposal.

What is the full size of the tires on the car now? Not just 165.

For example 185/60 R14 H

For my money you won't do better for the price than Uniroyal Rain Experts.

I believe the 165 refers to the 2L/165HP diesel - that may (given we're being asked to guess what tyres are currently fitted) require XL tyres.

Currently I'm running the Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 on the front and Bridgestone Potenza S001 on the rear... The F1's have decent grip (although I must admit I rarely push them to the limit) on dry wheather, and they behave good in the rain as well. However, since I got the Potenza in the rear, I started to notice a bit more of understeer (they have better grip than the F1).

Standard tyre size on the Bravo Sport 165 are 225/45R17 V 91 (I think)

Some of the 165's came with standard 18"... But on 17", that's the right tyre.

Thanks for all the replies. I have not been getting any emails telling me that anyone had replied . Must have done something wrong? My tyres are currently 255 45 R17 91W if that means anything to anyone. Not after budget tyres just long lasting with a bit more grip in the corners if possible .

Ziggy in answer to your questions

you after a named(premium brand) YES Premium I guess
Intermediate or budget tyres?

Price range your looking per corner? not bothered

You after any style? NO

Symmetrical Don't know what this means?
asymmetrical tyres Don't know what this means?
Directional? Don't know what this means?

Also whats your full tyre size? Speed + weight rating put the details at the top

Going to look at the forum settings so that I get notified when you lot reply now.

Really sorry about that Folks

I've used them several times here in Belgium. It lets you see what's out there. You can buy from anyone you like but this is helpful in getting prices before you make a decision.

You should avoid the lower priced tires. No point in having a high performance car if you put a poor Car/Road Interface Device on it.

You also get to see ratings from various testing organazations (mostly German) and buyer feedback. The best one on this list looks like the Continental Sport Contact 3.

There are a lot out there after clicking that link. I will have to take some time to look at them all.

Thanks for the link, I will start with the Continental Sport Contact 3

Symetrical - Ie stick a mirror down the middle, it'll look the same as it did before

For example

A Symetrical

Looks the same on either side of the car

for example

A Direction - kinda obvious
points in 1 direction
There is a left and a right sided tyre, cant be swapped over, as the direction would be wrong which could cause issues with steering / wear / noise/ braking

Hi Ziggy

I would not be fussed about swappping or moving the tyres once they were on . They can just stay there until they are worn out. I understand the differences now thank you.

Do you have a recommendation for a quality tyre that gives good wear and grip but not super soft compound so I would be replacing it quickly? What do you think to the Continental Sport Contact 3

Cheers

Having seen the last two winters Bella has just had a set of 4 205/55R16 91H VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 3s fitted, mind you, she is petrol rather than diseasel :)

Trev

How much did that cost if you don't mind me asking Trev? Just had 2 of the 4 Vredestein Snowtrac 3s in the same size delivered today. £300 for the 4 delivered, fitting will cost me another £5-10 a corner, but totally worth it :)

Hi Jon,

Event Tyres charged £340.88 for 4 tyres which were fitted on site, all done in under an hour too :)

The last picture in the Ziggy 122 post are Infinity tires, made in PRC, peoples republic of China.
They are the worst tires on the planet
My Alfa Gt went crazy in wet corners on this rubish.
Avoid them if you can.
Now the car is on Pirelli P7 , fantastic roadholding and looks.
Oure Fiat Palio runs Pirelli P6, great tire as well, before it ran Pirelli P6000, but I didn't liked it at all, uneven wear and a lot of road noise, not my kinda tire .......
