Hi, ok firstly i was just curious if anyone knew what size speakers can be a straight swap for the front door speakers?
Also i want to get some uprated speakers for the rear, 2 6x9s and either a subwoofer/midrange speaker/or a kickwoofer (not really sure what these are lol?) the sub would be just the acual speaker placed in a stealth parcel shelf. was just wondering with uprated speakers that are able to be louder without distorting does that mean the standard speakers on the dash and in the doors will sound distorted?

The standard speakers on a Bravo are specially moulded. They can not be directly replaced for aftermarket speakers. You need to buy speaker adapters which allow you to fit 5.25" speakers. I did once see 6.5" speaker adapters for the bravo years ago but have never seen them since and none of my audio suppliers keep them.

As for speakers in the rear, best bet is to get a decent set of speakers upfront instead. Get some 5.25" components for the front and mount the tweeters in the standard tweeter location. Have them powered by a decent 4 channel amp. For the sub. Run a 10/12" jobbie in the boot and power it off the same amp bridging the 2 unused channels.

Job done :)

6x9s, whilst being loud, arent all that good. Also, a bit pointless if you are running a sub. 6x9s are great for a simple setup where they are going to be the only speakers in the car. 6x9s are a full range speaker and so you basically do not need a sub.

The setup I described above would produce a much more pleasing sound with the tweeters and mid range speakers up front, directed as close as possible to yourself, and the sub in the boot to bring up the bottom end where the mid range just cant drop.

As for sounding louder without distorting, thats all down to power ratings and all sorts of complicated stuff. Best bet is that you get an amp and speakers with matched wattage ratings, or as near as possible anyway. (RMS wattage, not PEAK POWER).

If you wernt planning on running an amp, then dont bother upgrading. No matter what you spend on speakers, they will still distort and sound rubbish if you don't run them off an amp. The build in amp in the head unit just can't power a decent set of speakers.

Thats all sound advice Uno. (y)
A couple of things that i would like to add.
If you are mildly confident with taking the door cards off and working with MDF then you can just make MDF speaker baffles and fashion them in such a way that 6.5" components will fit. This will give you better choice and a larger mid bass means better sound. Also MDF is much more Acoustic than plastic so will give the speaker a better mount to kick off of.

If you arent going to amp then add sound deadening in the doors, this will make a big difference to even standard systems but if you are adding a sub then you will need to amp anyway.
No matter what you do deadening is always good increasing quality and output on an well amplified front end by around 1/3rd IMO.

Ok thanks for all the advice, i really dont want the sub in a box in the boot to be honest, and my budget isnt great...up to say £200. ok maybe uprate the front speakers then but leave the tweeters?

OK well get a set of components which means replacing the tweeters amp them up and use some sound deadening. It should sound pretty good despite missing the bottom end. If your still not satisfied then look into buying an ID Max sub for the shelf but that will cost a pretty penny.

You could consider some 6x9 speakers if subwoofer is not an option. Alot of people give them a bad name but i really believe they do have a purpose. Get a stealth shelf and some decent 6x9 for 50 quid with a set of components at front for 100 quid. Throw in a 4 channel amp to power them for 100 quid.
