so if someone has a fiat which uses this system,then basically you are saying,dont liston to him,buy the car and if the car goes wrong,then its only £800 to put right.officially,you are supposeed to give the dealer the red key and a keycard or tab showing a code number for servicing.they will service the car without it,but any updates or repairs to the ecu or CL will be very expensive because they cannot reprogramme the fitted ECU.no doubt once again,this will be deleted.quote;- "the truth is out there,but we cant tell people this for fear of scaring them off buying fiats"dave said:they only fit a new ecu if there are no keys at all or if the ecu is broke, 2 very good imo fiat techs have stated that no red key is needed for a service, 11.000 members have never posted saying "help i cant get my car serviced because i have no red key" you saying that it is needed is only going to put people searching the forum off buying the cars![]()
