Bravo problems - injection and air bag

Had my car a week and its already gone wrong!

The injection system warning light comes on now and again, Fiat dealer says its the lamda sensor - 102 quid.
The air bag light is always on, dealers says a new air bag ecu is required - 470 pounds!!

Do these prices seem reasonable, or am I being ripped off?

Did you say DEALER! as in MAIN AGENT! well that is bound to be a rip off! there will be places that can beat that price but sometimes the main agents do know what theyre doing therefore do a better job, but thats just my opinion!

Where abouts in the county are you, perhaps someone could suggest an alternative (reasonably priced) garage.

Happened to me once!. The Fiat dealer just reset the ECU for the injection system & ECU for airbag solved the problem.

Its funny that becuase my brava has the airbag warning light on and the injection light has started to come on now !

Ive also had a new clutch and exhuast

Airbag

I have an airbag light switched on problem. The agent said that the problem caused by a wear and tear airbag clockspring that sits in the steering hub. The agent unable to diagnose the problem, because they have to dismantle the airbag unit at the steering first. Because they are scared the airbag could deploy.

Right now my agent do not have stock. If they take out the airbag unit, my horn may not work also because the clockspring houses wiring for airbag and horn. So they need the stock for backup when performing the diagnostic test.

Every bravo suffers with airbag light on problem at some point. My car has done it twice in two years. And its only 2 years old! 1st time fiat fixed it under warranty, 2nd time......well the lights still on cos im n ot paying FIAT £40 to reset the airbag ecu. I know its not much cash, but i cant be arsed really either. Will prob get it fixed when its sold, or take the bulb out LOL
