bravo help!

hi got problem with my fiat bravo 1.4sx,when i put normal petrol in the car runs awful,it judders sometimes like its loosing power etc,and even known to stall now and again,but if i put injector cleaner in with normal petrol it runs fine,or if i use shell optimax it runs fine,really weird!!
do u think changing oil will help??i think garage put castrol multigrade in last time,would it help if i changed that to selnia 20k stuff??
do u think it maybe my injector thats going as it works fine with injector cleaner and optimax,both are designed to help injector etc

i know i hate saying it. but try an ecu reset. it might be used to running on the higher boost optimax.

ive tried it once before and did'nt work,but i have optimax in the tank at the moment so will have to wait til i put normal petrol in and reset ecu so it may get use to using normal petrol,if not then god knows whats up with it,i know the 1.4 engine is bad but this is weird,how much are new injectors anyway for a 1.4,does anyone know???

Take it to a garage and get it looked at.

might try some forte injector cleaner like it says on bravo website,ive tried waynes injector cleaner and d tox,but used both when i had half a tank so may have been too diluted to clean proper,bravo website reckons 1/4 of a tank and forte cleaner,gunna try,not sure if they sell forte at halfords??anyone know???

Try whta smee says 1st!... BUT TOTALLY empty the tank from optimax...run it well into the red then put a full tank of normal fuel in so that the optimax fuel is very dilute...then drive it really sensibly for about 300-400miles...it may do nothing but if it solves it then it will be cheaper then any visit to a garage?

may have to try that then!but still may try the forte engine cleaner stuff first,does anyone know a rough estimate off new injector then for 1.4,not fitted at fiat by a local garage??

TAKE IT TO A FIAT GARAGE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC!

If it runs ok on optimax its NOT the injector.

Anything from free to £40-50.

Will be FAR cheaper than changing lots of random different parts trying to solve an unknown problem.

might ring em in morning and get a price,hopes its free,take it to dixon fiat leeds,wont be for few weeks though as need car so in mean time might try the forte cleaner thing and maybe ecu reset

gunna try the forte engine cleaner thing first then the ecu and normal petrol reset if it fails ill have to take it to fiat,just been out today though and cant find where they sell forte injector/engine cleaner stuff,only seem to sell it online,been to halfords and motosave

Forte - v powerful stuff, usually used by those in the trade because it is dangerous. Hellfords and such won't sell it.

found a website that sells it all,bout 10-15 quid depending what one u want,better be good stuff,ive heard it is!!

fiat sell the forte range,bout 10 quid a bottle,well at dixon fiat leeds anyway,gunna try that first and if it fails ill book it in for diagnostic thing,they said they charge 28 pound for looking at car and doing diagnosic so thats not too bad,unless its something bad wrong with it then ill be gutted cause fiat charge loads
