Hey guys,

I've a 2009 59 Bravo active sport, I'm looking at an auxiliary in from the stereo into the glovebox.. Is this an easy thing to do with the standard stereo? The guy in Halfords who deffo wasn't ripping me off at all (sarcasm) said that it's easy to do, the cable was "only" £70.00 and the fitting was £30.00!!

What would I need, and could I do it myself?

Help is appreciated

Incredibly simple to do. It's one cheap cable from eBay. Where you put the cable is up to you, this guy made a hole in his dashboard. But I'd be betting that routing it unto your glove box would be much easier as there is normally a hole or some sort of gap you can feed it through. My only advice would be to make sure it's secured at some point to something solid from behind the head unit. Just to make sure you don't accidentally yank the cable and damage something. A cable tie or even some sealant or something on the inside of the dash half way along the cable. Leaving you loads of loose cable to help you control your music etc. but making sure that an accidental yank doesn't cause damage. Here's the link to the guys tutorial.

Can you link me to an eBay listing? I'll do it myself then for like £60 cheaper than Halfords :) - also while on topic, is there any cable that adds Bluetooth functionality as well?

No there isn't a cable to do that. You will need a Bluetooth system installed. Either using an aftermarket head unit. Or somehow installing a blue and me system. Which I wouldn't be able to explain.

I do believe the cable needed is the same as a grande Punto. Don't buy it yet however. I think someone else should confirm it as I've never done it.

Here the cable I think you need to buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-GRAN...-FOR-MP3-iPOD-iPHONE-BLACKBERRY-/160980740500

You will also need to buy some bravo radio keys. And make sure you use them the correct way or it creates a hole world of pain and issues.

If you think I've helped. Clicking the smiley face and "thanking" my posts would make my day :)

That Punto cable may fit but the one I purchased from ebay was this one: 110946731744 (type the item number into the eBay search box). This comes with the keys to get the stereo out of the dashboard. I have my cable in the glovebox. Its easier to fit with two people so that one can hold the stereo and a torch to highlight where the cable is behind the dashboard.

Hi Jay, thanks for the secondary reply. A second opinion is always good to confirm. how long is the cable? Does it give you a decent length in the glovebox? I'll order it now.

I'll obviously be releasing the stereo, but will I need a radio code? I don't have the car yet, I pick it up at new year, so don't know if my code will be in the manual or not, but you only need them when you disconnect the power don't you?

Cheers,
Ash

The cable I received was about 1m long so gave plenty of length.
I did not disconnect the stereo to fit it. The health and safety police will probably recommend disconnecting the battery but It shouldn't be a problem, I changed the cable twice in the six years i have had the car.
