who ever gets that is getting a cracking buy.

it won't cost a grand to sort the drive shaft seal out or whatever the problem is.

i think thats my find off the month.

i recently paid 750 for my 1.8hlx with 58k and lots of tax and test, its very clean and an absolute bargain, all because it grinds going into 2nd, a new gearbox is nothing to worry about but it has a big effect of the value, most people dont want to buy a car that needs things fixing. i prefer to buy cars with problems, in fact pretty much every car i've ever bought has been cheap because of one problem or another. my 1.6sx bravo had a faulty injector so i paid 365, it only cost me a fiver to fix and i recently sold it for 950. my advice is to never sell a faulty car, fix it and charge more.

Thanks for all your replies and to Dillinger for giving me the ins and outs.

Anyone have a Bravo 100 16v? Seen a couple of nice one and insurance isnt much more for the extra 20bhp and extras on the car. Can anyone give me some feedback on the 100 16v and maybe what they think the better car is please. (y)

my first bravo was a 1.6sx, its felt practically as fast as my 1.8hlx, not much difference at all, but it still has the brakes and interior of the lower models so stopping at 115mph is a bit scary, and it still has the light steering so B road action is a bit scary too, its basically the same as the 1.2 but lots faster. the only real downside is the petrol costs. i'd go for it, the extra insurance will be a bargain compared to the cash you'd waste trying to make a 1.2 go faster.

me and my mate can get 120mph out of our 1.2s and thts with out any mods, we arnt sure tho why my 1999 1.2sx is in group insurance and my mates 2001 1.2sx is in group 6

120 mph thats sounds like something has been done to it.

i'd take it to a rolling road and find out the veichiles top speed. to see what you could really get out of it....as the specs on Fiatboo say it can reach a top speed of 107 mph.

no havnt done anything, our engines are total different i think hes got the short sump engine or sumat and it doesnt have and body role o well, im gonna get it remaped and the usal stuff

my speedo says 130mph when my sat nav says 115mph, which i believe my real top speed is, if i went around saying my bravo does 130 i'd get laughed at, but 115 seems like a realistic figure. get a sat nav in the car and see how far out the speedo is.

Mine has shown 133 on the clock before (on a private track obviously), no GPS on board so no idea what it was actually doing and I'm far too embarrassed to take a 1.2 near a timed track event or RR so I guess I'll never know ;) Usually it sits at 110 top speed on the flat and since it was exactly 3mph out all the way up to 90odd with GPS, I would guess Fiat's guess of 107 is about right, though heaven alone knows how they came up with 13.6 to 60

I definatly recommend the 80 16v its a little monster when it wants to be! It seems much more at home at motorway speeds and above. In my experience it isnt much good for driving around citys and towns but excellent on motorways.

I've had mine upto 116 mph and i havent modded it at all.

just wondering is it the same engine as my girlfriend's mk2 punto sporting (80bhp) ?

i know they look different but i guess its the same engine underneath. havent checked the codes, but fiat engine and gearbox codes seem to be a bit more confusing than most. there's no 'family' coding as far as i can tell.

am happy with the bravo i think that it is an exceptional l.ittle car. but i don't get it fast enough to see what its top speed is.
