Technical Bravo 165 MJet EGR

Hi All,

Having some issues with my car and by all accounts is should be EGR valve. Came to do it and there's nothing like the pics I've found on the net that you would call an EGR. Went to my local garage and they said it was at the front right hand side of the engine. So took it off and this is what I found.

Won't let me turn the pics. But I'm told that my car has a water-cooled EGR, It fits into a housing on the right of the engine. Anyone come across these before?

It is exactly on the opposite side of the engine parts you dismantle.

Hi,
I had a look at the video, it still shows as the EGR valve being attached to a downpipe. I've attached some more pictures of where I think it should be. There's something attached to the throttle body, and the black part is the only thing that has an orange type of plug attached to it

This is the throttle body from the right hand side. Pic should be at 90 deg. I just can't see where else it could be

Yes the orange plug is attached to the egr valve.
There are two torx screws needed to be out for dismanle the egr valve.
Upper one is easy to remove but the bottom screw is a pain in the ass.
Good luck and watch again the video if you still want to remove egr valve.

Hi again,

I do appreciate your help. I've already got the under tray off, whether that makes it easier. Looking at the video, it attaches to some kind of exhaust outlet. I'm guessing this is slightly different, whereby I undo the torx screws and it comes away

You're right, it was a pig to get off, but anyhow, this is it before

and after, it also moves pretty freely

I did a diagnostic on it and a fault code P2563 came up, Since I've cleaned it, there's no codes present.

I took it out for a run, and driving at around 75 for a couple of miles, after slowing down it still went into Limp mode again. So I'm baffled now as to what causes it.

I know it's an old thread but it can help someone else:

When your EGR is that dirty, chances are your MAF and another sensor I don't recall the name are completely clogged and they're the ones that make the biggest difference.

Cleaning sensors is much easier and more important than cleaning the EGR.
