First of all, may I thankyou all in the help that i've had from this site today.

My bravo had gradually lost economy and was running poor. On inspection, one of the cam lobes from no. 4 was worn and had a flat spot.

Its now been fitted with a new (second hand) cam and had the oil pipes cleaned out, new belt and tensioner, oil flush and new filter and runs a lot better now.

One last query I have though is the cambelt tension. The tension feels good all round, but (with the cover off) you rev the engine hard the untensioned side of the belt does flap about slighty, also if you turn the engine slightly counterclockwise the untensioned side does become quite loose. Is this normal with the auto adjuster?

Thanks again guys and girls.

thanks for the response, should it lose so muh tension if you slightly rotate the crank the other way though?

thanks

Thanks for the picture, so as long as its pointing at the hole the tension will be good all round.

thanks
