I have a 1.2 16v 2001 brava which won't start it turns over but won't start it will bump start no problem I'm pretty sure it's getting fuel and a spark because as I say it bump start very easy. It's had a new battery fitted so nothing to do with that when it's turning over it seems like its going to go but it's as if it does not have enough power to fully engage the starter as when it does it's goes silent as it there is no power at all is there anybody that has the same problem or has a way of fixing it.

we need more info:

what work has recently been done
how long has this problem been happening
have you hooked up any diagnotics
have you or anyone else tinkered with anything.

The car has not had any work done other than fitting the new battery and a new rear exhaust. The problem started about a month or so ago when if first started it would only happen once in a blue moon but has started happening most days now. I have not touched anything on it had a look to make sure all leads where connected correctly not tried diagnostic equipment yet. It seems like there is no spark when it's turning over but then again it bump starts no problem could the coil pack be faulty and that's why it only happens sometimes?

ok first thing to do is get the diagnostic codes read because if your coil pack(s)
have malfunctioned it should give you an answer. i would also double check the leads going to the starting motor as a good measure.

its also very easy to test coil packs using a multi meter, so codes first.

you will need to run a reset function on the diag software because when you change a fiats battery you will have screwed all the perameters up

keep us informed
