hello there just wondering is it usual to have a light oil dampness in the pipe out of the turbo to the intercooler(engine has low oil consumption)
and another thing is that the coolant level drops about 3/4 litre(below min.) in about 300 miles which i think is a lot so i went for a look, the only coolant leak i found was at the engine oil dip stick shroud(tube) that goes into the back of the sump. it leaks at the point where it entries the sump(or should i say it look like it's at that point) or am i just mad for thinking oil can leak at that point?
any remedies for this leak.

Umm.. why would coolant be leaking from the dipstick hole??

Remember, the coolant level should be checked when HOT, not cold. If you fill it when its cold, it will just blow water out when its hot to the correct level and when its cold it will look like the level has dropped.

As for the oil in the inlet pipe, thats natural. It only takes a few drips of oil to leave that sort of deposit and turbo seals have never been 100%.

Hate to say this but you may have a nackered head-gasket or a warped head.

if the head gasket was blown would'nt there be bubbles in the coolant when the engine was running?? there is'nt. any way thanks about the turbo

i think it depends what part of the head gasket has gone. eg between cylinders or clinder to cooling etc. The h/g went on my uno and the only symptoms were excessive loss of water (empty within 100miles towards the end) and over heating due to water loss.
