hi new to this and new to the car i have a 1.4s brava 98 r was wondering after seeing the pics if a marea console would fit in my car and what i would have to do to make it fit been offered one at scrappy with all the leather gaiters for £11 inc vat

£11 is a good deal. Yes it will fit your Brava. Make sure you get everything needed:

-Console
-Arm Rest
-Mirror Switch
-Gear Knob Surround and Gator
-HandBrake Gator
-Oddments Tray

Anything forward of the console isn't needed, i.e the plastic panels, the Brava ones will do.

Make sure you get all the heating tubes under the console. Also make sure you get the rear bracket under the console, the others aren't necessary as they Brava ones are adequate....

thanks

thanks a lot mate any other suggestions you have for custimizing my first car would be gratefully recieved

...Ok the Brava console has heating piping inside the console and it comes out near the rear passengers feet. Ok well the Marea has a different system. The Marea has a vent on the rear of the Console aswell as heating vents under the front seats.

The pipes for under the seats and the main one for the rear vent requires modification to fit and work with the Bravo.

Basically you use under seat vent tubes to fit to the bravo but you will need to modify it so that you can direct the air to the rear vent as there are no under seat vents in the Bravo/a.

You'll understand when you see what i mean.

I just cut off the pipes so that i can fit them into the main pipe and taped them up securely.

Works a treat.

nice one will ghive it a go this weekend was also thinkin of taking the centre and vents and dial surround off and painting them to match the colour of my car

Make sure you do it properly otherwise it'll start to flake off.

Also get yourself some nice alloys.

i am a painter for a sheet metal company so painting is no probs really also i want alloys but dont know where to start looking size etc also i have to carry a set of 13 month old kids and i heard that some size wheels make the ride uncomfortable

Well 15" alloys are standard on higher spec models, so the ride quality will be the same as the ride you have now.

thanks talking to you guys and reading through the forum has really inspired me to do some special things to my car to make it my own

The tubes to the rear of the console are for air-con models. In the others, there's an ashtray.

If thats true Pete explain this, my console with vent.......... oh and Ashtray.
