Hi All.

I've got a nice Brava JTD V reg today.

Few problems, like windscreen wiper controller has died (seems to be common problem, will look at tomorrow).

Although a question, I find that it does 0-60 in about 7 seconds, and top speed can easily be reached at 130mph, when the rev counter hits the red line so I stopped pushing it.

This doesn't sound to me like what these cars are supposed to to, is it that this has been chipped, it seems very perky for a "standard" 1.9 turbo diesel, or are these very perky engines anyway?

Like at 110mph (where is supposed to be the top speed), it only took another 10 seconds to go up to 120mph, on a flat road....

Chipped or not?

Ive never had a brava JTD but did own a Punto JTD.

Its the same engine, just that the brava has more power (based on the standard map i presume).

I doubt a standard car would hit the redline in 5th as the power tails off before the redline on the standard JTD, and 7secs to 60 is very quick for a JTD too.

Its probably been remaped at sometime. no way to ask the previous owner?

Deffo remapped i would say. Angel tuning can get them to 150bhp for £350. My uncle has one and he says it is really rapid.

Watch out for clutch slip if the original clutch is in place though.
