Brava air bag / front impact sensor / dangly bits

Anyone like to help with this >>>>

Airbag light constantly on, and I have found a dangly wire under bonnet below the front nearside headlight. The wire has a connector which has a white square end and looks like it plugs onto something - my guess is that if I reattach it to its rightful place, the airbag light will go off..... any idea whether this thing attaches?

Its a 1996 Brava...

Nope, thats probably the foglight connector.

The Airbag ECU is inside the car, the ONLY way to get the light to go out is to go to Fiat and hand them money.

No foglights on this car....

Surely there is some kind of sensor on the front of the car, to tell it when its had a smash?

No, its inside the car.

The wiring is there for the foglights no matter if you have them or not.

Brava airbag

My 1996 Brava's airbag light came on and with it a musky water smell. Took it to Fiat said it would cost £1500. Heater matrix leaked and caused the return pipe from it to corrode. Water went into airbag sensor (airbag ECU) causing light to flicker for a while then stay permanently on. I bought a Haynes manual, a new matrix (not from Fiat), feed and return pipes with seals and a sensor from a scrappy. A painful job to rectify, but only cost me £130.
Check firstly that the footwells aren't wet. If they are follow the above. A full days work, good luck. Let me know how you get on

I expected it just to be a £20 job with the electrics or something, i'm shocked at the prices stated here as I honestly didn't think it would cost so much, oh well better start saving up
