Hi all! Great forum and very useful - thanks!

I've just bought a W reg Fiat Brava 1.6 Auto. It has 13,000 miles on the clock and I've jsut taken it in for it's first service (12,700miles). My question concerns the economy I'm getting. Currently I do mainly motorway driving and I'm getting a consistent 29mpg. I know this isn't actually too bad - I just wonder whether anyone is getting any better out there?

I'm perfectly happy with the car, and the economy, and I'm very glad I bought it!

Thanks all

Jason

fuel consumption

yours sound like a good one .its hard to say exactly what you should get to the gallon because of all the things that make up all the driving styles and uses of the car like lots of cold starts or town running but geting high twentys is a good sign ....

Thanks Alan

Thanks for the info Alan. I'm a little less worried now because I managed to get 32 on a couple of long runs.

Brava 1.6 Auto - The Gem in the Range

I struggle to get to 30 MPG but I am a London driver. I put up with this because the auto is the best I have ever driven. It slicks into each gear with absolutely no jerking. The box is the same as some Astas and Vectras but you wouldn't know they were related! The box is tuned on GM products to snap the changes and make you think that they are performance products. The up side of this is that they have better fuel economy because they lose less through the changes. Why snap the changes when you an over-ride switch called SPORT?
The other big difference is that Fiat fit a complete cooling radiator with high power fan. All in all, a proper engineered solution.

Just got to fix that rear washer and electric window now!
