Brava 1.4 engine cuts out

I've got an intermittent problem with my Brava 1.4, which was running fine until a couple weeks ago. The engine cut out when I turned onto a side road. It started up again first time right away. The car was very low on oil, so I put it in for an oil change which I hoped would fix it.

Since then it has happened 3 more times. It happens each time when I'm slowing down, maybe coming down from 4th or 3rd into 2nd, and I think also when I am steering left or right. Once on a roundabout tonight, twice just turning off a main road onto a side road. I'm not completely sure, but I think it also does it only a mile or two after I've started the car.

Then again, I took it on around a 100 mile trip at the weekend and it had no problems, which is the infuriating thing. Has anyone experienced this before, got any ideas what it might be?

My old 1.4 used to do that. Never actually got round to repairing it though because the cambelt snapped and destroyed the engine.
I thought it may have been faulty power steering but it was only a guess.
It only ever seemed to go when in a low gear whilst turning a corner going quite slow.
I would suggest checking power steering fluid and if the pump is leaking although I am not sure how the power steering is linked to the engine and if it is possible for it to cause the engine to stall.

My 1.4 did it as well, but I never got it fixed.

For me it seemed to do it, when I had been driving the car very hard then I started slowing down it would just cut out.

Quick dip of the clutch and turn of ignition and it starts up again fine.

Not funny though when it cuts out when you least expect it, and the PAS and everything switches off.
