Hi to all,
I hope someone can help.
I have been helping my son to change the clutch on his Brava, all is good except when it came to connecting the starter motor, he has forgotten which way the connections should be. Does anyone have a picture of connected wires that I could see, or explain very simply which way around they should be?
Urgent help please as I am waiting to get the car out of my garage.
Thanks in anticipation.:bang:

Starters usually have the solenoid on the side.
One terminal of the solenoid is connected to the motor and directly across is the battery connection, the solenoid activation is usually not in line with the main terminals.

If it is like with other brava/marea Ive had, the solenoid battery+ is also extended to connect the alternator output (fiat saving on copper wiring).

this is correct;

the RED power cable ( HD from battery) goes onto the SHINY copper stud,

the small signal wire from ignition goes onto the SPADE connector,

generally - on FIAT's of this age,
there is no direct EARTH / ground cable, to starter.

the EARTH is a HD black cable from vehicles left inner wing onto gearbox casing,
