So I'm about to change my pads, discs and drop links, and I don't have a 19mm spanner or socket for removing the caliper carrier, before I start, will a 3/4 socket suffice, or should I nip out for a 19mm before I start.

Depends on how well made your tools are..... 3/4" is equivalent to 19.05mm

Right, job all done, I just went out and got the 19mm socket.
On another note, it's just as well I did a small test drive on my estate, I had forgotten to tighten the nearside wheel nuts, the knocking soon let me know. All tightened, taken for a longer drive. All good, just need to get the bedding in miles done ?

Glad I got the 19mm socket, might have rounded using 3/4". Tough buggers to get off because of the thread lock compound.

Old bushman trick here: put a thin rag between the bolt head and your spanner...
