mintex are good my brake pads usually only last me 6 months these still have a lot of life on them the stop good aswel :)

stopping good also depends o condition of the discs...i too have drilled and grooved discs on front...i dont think insurance would be an issue there discs lol

however i have badly warped me discs now and i am needing a new set but that wasdue to my driving not the discs :)

green stuff pads i dont really see the difference tbh feel the same...the only way you get a better bite is because you adjust the rear shoes correctly also...if you adjust the shoes out towards the drum correctly then the bite is very very good until the shoes wear down a bit then do it again :)

DO NOT just adjust from the cable need to remove the shoes and actually do it...BTW new drums works a treat :)

Yea i did the rear drums about a year ago when they had a Huge lip and new shoes clicked straight out to the end, it worked for about 100miles then failed

So i said screw it - and did a better job then my mechanic :)

EBC blackstuff/ultimax sound like what you are after, pretty good pads in my old BMW, I used them as a stop-gap while waiting for some Yellowstuff to arrive and to be honest if I didnt have a track day to do I would have left the blacks in, but the Yellows worked so well from cold there was no reason to change back... The blacks were taken to track days though just incase I managed to cook the Yellows, even round Cadwell Park I never managed that though.
