Technical Brake Lights

Weird one!

Lately my brake lights stayed on after releasing the brakes until i lifted the pedal up slightly, then the other day they stopped working altogether the lights would come on when i turned the main lights on indicators and reverse lights all work fine. Now the main lights dont work and the brake lights have gone back to working but staying on unless i lift the pedal.

Can anyone give me any indications to the problem? All fuses are okay. i've checked the wiring and everything looks intact.

Brake light switch, it's right above the pedal. Check it's operation.

Yeah i think it may be broken.. not sure what i'm looking at but googling around seems to prove you right. Where can i get a new switch from and how much will it cost?

or u could try a local scrappy or if worst comes try fiat themselves

I've not handled one yet, but can you try to clean it ?
Make sure it goes on/off and see if anything else is wrong, fitting loose etc ?

Yeah i've just ordered one from a local parts shop, picking it up at 5pm or so.. what tools will i need ?

Apparently there is some sort of silencer or something i should remove to give me more room/access?

New brake light switch fitted all working fine! ALthough now i know i need two new bulbs one for the brake light and one for the main light on the same side. Also need some leds(?) for the top brake light..

anyone know best place to get what i need?

ebay if your not in a rush if not your local motor factor or even local asda got my side lights from asda at 59p each
