Technical Brake lights permanatley on.

Brake lights are permanatley on, on the fizz. only noticed this morning so god knows how long its been like that.

What could it be, stuck switch on the pedal or the typical dodgy earths?

Sounds like switch or pedal box.

First try pulling brake pedal up when someone is checking lights to see if they go off.

Second if that fails, remove wires from switch to see if lights go off. If they don't then its earth problem, if they do then switch is US'ed

Have you got a spare switch Craig?

It tried pulling the pedal up with my foot this morning but it didnt want to move so i'll try and siconect the switch at lunch. is it just a small connector?

No i dont, if i do need a new one i'll go to fiat as theres a few things i would like to add. So watch out for resquests on part numbers!

Yep small white switch by brake pedal. Two wires going to it. One each side of the switch (you'll see what I mean).

pulled one of the wires off the plug and they went off so i guess the switch is kaput. any idea on new ones from FIAT? will try eper, not that it will work

It won't be an earth problem Craig, either a wiring short or the switch stuck.

Yeah i know! I'll try taking the switch out and seeing if it just stuck and needs a clean, probably all the mucky snow and slush off my shoes making a mess on it causing it to short!

Yes iirc, which means it would just need unscrewing/screwing in slightly to adjuest it? Can't remember 100% how the Panda brake light switch is, but its something like that.
