In the pic you can see what looks like a 'cut-out' in the drum. Could anyone confirm this is a manufacturing process, possibly to achieve the balance of the drum and not a matter for concern, eg. fracture, thanks

Not a Sedici owner but since no one else has stepped in I'll try to help.

Most (all?) drums are machined in the factory for balancing purposes, and looking at yours in closeup it does indeed look like an intentional 'cut-out'. FIAT drums generally have shallow holes machined into the front face, but your car will have been made in the Suzuki plant in Hungary and that probably explains the difference.

The easiest way you can check for sure is to see if there is a similar cutout on the other drum.

Hope this helps.

I checked the other drum but no sign of 'cut-out'. I can only presume this drum did not require any machining to balance. thanks for help

Not sure it helps but mines the same - one with cut out, one without!
