hi, I have just got some new green stuff pads for my t-jet, it has vl36, forge intercooler and custom map so is running quite alot higher than standard and the old discs could do with a change.
I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on whether I should go for something a little more expensive, such as tarox drilled and grooves discs, or whether to just get standard discs but with better pads? has anyone got the tarox discs, and are they really worth £200+?!

thanks :)

I would get new standard discs, and just uprate the pads tbh. On my t-jet I changed to M-Tec grooved and dimpled with brembo pads and it's not much of a difference. I think you'll only feel a difference when uprating callipers or going for a big brake kit, there's not much you can do if keeping same callipers. I guess if you wanted to get rid of the spongy feel you could change to stainless brake hoses instead of the rubber ones.

I have M-Tec drilled discs on the front, i would say that they perform a bit better than the OEM discs, nothing dramatic but its noticable.

Ive always thougt the standard brake set-up on the T-Jet is more than adequate for the car. Bearing in mind that the same set up is used on the M-jet, i think some decent discs and pads would be fine on yours even with your mods.

Ive not heard of any issues with the brakes on remapped M-jets which would have more BHP and torque than yours so wouldnt really say a big brake kit would be worth the cost

Just tried to get brake disc off and one of torx screws head has been rounded off, is there any way of getting it off without damaging anything? ie drilling it out, anyone had to do this before?

Anyone know where to get some new bolts from? Sizes etc

One of mine did that as well, I just got a drill bit the same size as the torx screw head and drilled it off. Then when you take the disc off, the screw should be loose inside the hub so you can get a small screwdriver to get it out. Not sure where to get new ones from though.
