Hi all,
Hope someone can help/advise?

My boot all of a sudden isn’t opening with the central locking on the keys. The doors will unlock fine and the lights still flash twice as they usually do when unlocking the boot but no click/noise is happening when I press the boot button on my key.

I don’t think I can manually open the boot either?

Really hope someone can help!!

I have a Fiat 500 sport 2008 just FYI :)

Thank you!

Does the boot open when you press the button under the handle? If not you can manually open the boot/hatch but it involves crawling into the back of the car and releasing the latch.

It's more than likely your car is suffering from the dreaded hatch wiring malady. You'll need to open the hatch as above, disconnect the battery, then inspect the wiring inside the rubber conduit that runs from the body into the hatch, looking for frayed or even broken wiring. There is a repair kit available if you're comfortable with wiring repairs - search the forum for much more information.

It's a well known issue with the hatch wiring shorting out where it bends at the tailgate, there was probably nothing wrong with the boot handle, there's a kit on EBay to fix it, provided you can DIY?
