Technical Boot release cable help

The boot release cable has detached at the handle end.
Does anyone know how it attaches to the plastic handle? Or have a photo.

It looks like it has previously been bodged which is understandable but as it stands there is just the inner cable end and nothing to hold it on to the flimsy plastic handle.

Does anybody also know if a 3dr cable is shorter than a five door one?

Hi
First loosen the lock of the tailgate.
Then release the cable through the small gap
in the holding fixture.
Push down the plastic lid in the frame of the grip.
Now you can tilt the structure over the bottom of the cut-out.
You can release the end of the wire now.

Thanks, I am missing the metal cap of the end of the wire as shown in your photo but i should be able to bodge with a nut or something.

Maybe a lustre terminal will supply parts

Not sure what a lustre terminal is, but perhaps an electrical terminal strip/'chocolate block' - the kind where you screw in little slot-head screws to hold the cables - get the brass bit out and clamp it onto the cable end?

Yes that´s it. You might also find something from the bicycle fraction.
There´s also some parts from the brakes that can be useful.
