Hi

Nice MoT person passed the little '98 Sei, but noted both the boots on lower front suspension ball joints were cracking.
The ball joints look they are part of the arm do people just replace the boots?

Hi Guys

But that is an arm and a leg?

Noel

Nah, two arms, surely

Cheers

D

Hi David

Yes you are correct as usual
I'm sure I can recall stripping ball joints and rebuilding them, when they had grease nipples.
Seems like yesterday.

Eper does have one pic without that piece fitted, so maybe it is possible, but really dont think they will come out and go back. No harm in trying with the old arms if you can take car off the road for a few days to allow for ordering the whole arms. Would have to be custom boots though.

Less hassle to buy new arms. ;)
Hi

It was not a formal MoT observation. The current boots have not split yet they are surface cracking, so I was merely going to get a compatible boot and clean old boot exterior, of all debris, remove and replace.

Scrapping an arm that is serviceable seems untoward.

And there are boots available, e.g.

I'll tell you what I do, eventually.

Hi Ming

You are getting like the purple toy (David), cynical as you lose your plukes.

Yes the old metal elastic OEM bushes probably need new plastic, I was not complaining about that.

Normally the sei is a mobile tool box not a 'screech' mobile, 55MPG.
