Hi all

I have a grande Punto 07 plate and I am finding that the boot is leaking water in. I have tried looking at the aerial seal and sealed that the best I can. I then turned my attention towards the boot rubber seal which I have replaced with a new seal and the water is still getting in. It isn't a lot of water but I noticed that the fabric either side of the spare wheel we'll are damp. I tried lifting the fabric up and siliconing behind it as I thought it was leaking through the fabric from underneath but yet both sides are still getting damp. Anyone have any suggestions or had this problem before and did you solve it?

My advice is to remove all carpet in that area and have a good look for rust type stains or discolouration, possibly along seams etc. Water will take the easy route and can travel miles along a panel before showing somewhere unexpected.
Strongly against siliconing etc.
Find the source of water "ingress", it can be around light fittings and 100s of other places.
As an apprentice in the 1960s they would shut me in the boot with a torch whilst playing a hose around the outside, if I was lucky I would be let out.;)
When foreman of a car Dealership in the 70s, I had access to roughly 40 pages on that model in their "service bulletins" from the manufacturer on "water ingress", that make was Russian, we were also Dealers for Mazda and I only had one water issue on those, it was a Mazda 626 that the Waxoyl rust treatment had blocked the drain holes in the drivers door, when you opened the door it felt heavy and you could hear water slopping around, I don't think it did the electric window motor much good!;)
