Everytime I've gone to close my car for the past week, I'll press to lock and it'll make a sound signaling that my boot is open and everytime it turns out my boot actually is

The only confusing part is that I haven't used the back of my car this week and if I have any past weeks, I always make sure to close it well.

There's never been a sign on my dashboard any of the times that this has happened showing that my boot is open, it's only when I go to lock the car that I figure out it is.

The problem isn't that my dashboard isn't showing me that my doors are open because the dashboard lights do work, the problem is that my boot isn't being opened by me or anyone else (because of the way I park) yet it will still be open the next time I go to lock my car.

It does make a slam sound whenever I close my boot so now I'm wondering if the mechanisms are breaking, I'm not sure

Any help appreciated thanks 😁

What sound does it make? If a door isn’t shut there’s no sound as the locks don’t operate - but the hazard lights flash extra fast for a couple of seconds instead

Just in case… are you are pressing the bottom button of the remote, which is the ‘open the boot’ button. (The ‘lock’ button is the middle of the three).

Is it possible that somehow that when you press the lock button, the bottom button is getting pressed as well… maybe something somehow under the rubber cover over the buttons?

The older (pre-2012) Panda used to suffer a problem with the microswitch in the boot handle operating ‘by itself’ - but the later model seems to suffer much less.

I would check to see if the boot release lever on the boot may be stuck in. or the wiring between the bootlid and the roof may be deteriorated in the rubber tube.
