Well
I'm new here and no doubt putting this in the wrong place..I acquired a blue punto jtd 2002 some time back.. Which iv subsequently realised was on here..
Unfortunately the car after leaving the hands of the guy here must of been neglected and I am on my way to fixing it up..
Its had 2 new wishbones.. 2 new springs.. 1 new gearbox, new downpipe, The list goes on handbrake cables, shoes, pads lol and more.
It has electrical gremlins mainly one being that it has p0235 on fiatecuscan.. now I can give insight it has the gsr kit fitted and I know the boost solenoid was playing up because of it.. However the car has gone into some sort of limp mode and that happened after driving over a small kerb that I didn't see..
After this it has been stuck like that.. Being on fk coilovers it didn't give much and my reward is this..
Now if anyone has an idea what would do this pleases tell me.. I know it could be actuator arm, Boost solenoid, map sensor, Oh the maf has been unplugged still the same.
Help Please I want to mot it and get it back to its former glory.
Thank you in advance.[/FONT]

Hi frisko.
Thanks for responding..
Yes the eml is on and when cleared it returns the p0235 straight away..
I don't mind spending money on parts and was thinking its the boost solonid with it going wild when wet anyway .. I have bought some decent silicone vaccum hose to relocate and probably renew sensor when I have this sorted... I imagine all the water wont of helped it as it lost boost then or I had extreme ''I'm the passanger treatment''
As the car did its own thing.. Boosting like a madman.
But as this has been stuck this way after the kerb seems off to be a sensor but hey it has moving parts.. Im stumped.
Egr is blanked at inlet.
It really has no guts steep hills a no no its undriveable.

Many thanks.

Thanks guys
I have read the synopsis on the p0235.. Although I have been googling it for days.. The obd codes, com explanation is vey descriptive..

I am in the process of taking map sensor of just need the torq bit.. perhaps the bump knocked some soot and crap from egr loose, Also doing vac hose

Interestingly what brought me here was a post I was reading on same issue. To which I started to look at the car and think hmm bit like mine and so I read the guys thread ''ROCKBOTTOM''
My number plate matches lol.. Light blue jtd with abarth front..Few years ago he sold it anyhow I have it now it is slightly different.

In his thread he describes the exact same problem I have and really has no explanation how it was fixed as if it fixed itself..
Now that would probably be a wire at a guess..
When reading the code ecuscan says signal to high..P0235
Is this actually indicating the sensor at fault I know it is a generic sort of boost issue.

To lend an insight the car had a red dot map, gsr induction, egr delete, full stainless.. albeit the standard downpipe is not good to low and dented quite badly,
New one ordered and getting jacked up its on coilovers (pipe was dented already but kerb could of made it worse)
Restriction in exhaust could perhaps be making the turbo struggle to get the gas through, Just summising but makes sense.

Car was 125bhp thereabouts reddot dyno according to post..
But i know turbo has been replaced since.

Thanks again to you both and sorry for long post just may be rellevent information

Hi,
Just an update been playing with the car today I was cleaning the boost solenoid today and putting the egr back.
I haven't had chance to get the torq bit to remove the map sensor but gave it a little tap (nothing brutal)
Anyhow after starting the car the eml started to go of momentarily and seems to be a response to accelerator..
Unfortunately by the time I had finished the only time the light could be held off was 4000rpm and would stay off until letting off and again when revs were met it would go off.
So is this a clear indication that map sensor is not getting the results it wants because of coking..
I should of had it out for a clean my bad not having the tools to hand.

Right I've littered the sight a bit with same problem in different sections.. Thanks to anyone that helped.. The fault was map sensor replaced eml had to be reset but all good
