Technical bonnet stuck

Hi guys

I currently own 3 cars but always use my marbella for daily driving but today i faced a problem, i went to check the cars fluid levels and when pulling the bonnet release lever the click was not heard and i am now unable to open the bonnet :bang:

I have checked the cable and tried to pull it from near the lever to see if it is disconnected but it seems it still is.

Any ideas how i can manually open the bonnet please ?

Have you had someone pull the bonnet up whilst you are pulling the lever? Thats usually required on most Panda's I find. Other than that it will be a case of trying to get your hand up between the engine and radiator from below to release the catch by hand.

Yeah i have tried pulling up will they hold the release lever is the the proper way to do it or should it be done simultaneously ?

Try pulling the release lever at the same time as having someone pull up on the bonnet. Its fairly common for the cables to stretch but that usually happens in warmer weather

thanks for the tip i live in Malta and the weather here is quite warn so that might do the trick will give it a try tomorrow

If you're single handed, it's just a matter of putting a little bit of pressure under the bonnet to help the spring along which is not quite popping the catch. I just use a bit of card folded until it's a tight fit and wedge it under the bonnet lip by the catch. Normally just enough to pop it when you pull the lever.

mine has snapped in ruffy-tuffty, tried anything yet,will try the hand up the engine bay, or mole grips on the cable,

Once you do get it open (pulling technique works), then adjust the rubber stops so you need to press it closed under some tension since it's that tension that helps it to pop open when you pull the release cable. If the bonnet just closes loosely, the spring catch doesn't seem to work as it should.
