bonnet release problem

Hey,
Lookin for a bit of help with a newly developed problem- I went to change the screen wash on my FIAT BRAVO 1.9 TD100SX, the bonnet opened ok, the problem is that it just wont 'lock' down/close properly. I had a pretty good look at it but just don't see what the problem is.

Any ideas? Any help greatly appreciated

Try adjusting it.There is a large nut above the spring, Just slacken that and unscrew the plunger half a turn by using the slot cut in for that purpose.Tighten the locknut again. Put plenty of grease on the plunger and mechanism. Might want two or three tries until you get it right
