received my nice shiny chrome bonnet lifters from postman pat the other day, depending on the weather tommorow will be the day i fit them

well i started to fit my bonnet lifters and for some unknown reason the screw with the ball on the end SNAPPED! leaving the threaded end in the hole!
whats all that about? i could understand if i overtightend it but it wasnt tight lol
so now ive got to find a replacement or even a few lol and drill out the screw!
probly best i give the engine transplant a miss ant lol

im doin a 20vt conversion, got the coupe sat on my drive waitin to be strpped, im just changin belts an water pump when engines out an puttin a new turbo on.

did you get inxx bonnet lifters? if so the same happened to both ball screws i got with regards to it snapping and leaving thread in, i went and bought another 2 off ebay and drilled the old threads out and fitted boot lifters off my sisters 1.4 instead, much cheaper and better by far!

yeah mate they look pretty sweet. no didnt sand them down but its a job i intend on doing soon, used a bit of tin foil for my remote because the batteries wherent making a very good connection to each other lol
