I got that crank sprocket off, the one that the bolt I sheered off due to clockwise unscrew. Thanks for your advice and commisserations during the debacle.
So there I was today putting everything back together with a nicely skimmed head waiting to go on. I'd just popped out for some 800 sandpaper. When I came back, my helper had screwed on the new waterpump - but had latherered the bolts going into the block in gasket sealer !!!!
You can imagine what happened. The pressure of the liquid cracked the bottom block at the back where one bolt thread is probably only 5mm from the surface...:bang: :bang: PS Hellcat, you might need more than a socket set if visting York !!
