i have had my uno looked at because of a lack of power+power distribution problem been told its most likely the carb and so if i have 2 get anew one shall i just get a K&N bolt on carb?

the car starts up and sounds bad, mainly due to a loose bearing on the cambelt, but when driving the car seems to lack power, (i.e. in second i will put the pedal 2 the floor and the car pulls away but in fits and starts, kinda doesnt get all the power down at once just decides when it wants to go and is as if i am coming on and off the clutch all the time, so my head bobs around in the car!

Smokeme, how would one go about doing this?

So far I'm thinking...

Take off air box and spray carb cleaner/spray in while revving the engine?

Or you could tear the carb apart, loose a few pieces put it back together and find car won´t even start:D . Use the spray then say how it went.;)

Finally someone thinks about posting the solution to their problem!!:D

If it's from 1994, it's most likely an injection unit and not a carburettor. Is the car named 1.0 ie or something. Then it's got a Bosch MonoJettronic (SPi) module. It's a hybrid injection / carburettor. Check this first.

Morten.

I´m just glad to be able to help, what year is the car and engine size or model if you don´t know.

just ad my car looked at! found out it was the whole single point injection system electronics! will cost me £370 for a whole new system from a scrappy!!!! so i dont av enuf money 2 cover it!!! im in a low position at the mo! cant believe it!

You're not "wasting anyone's time". I think what smokeme meant was that it would be fun to have a few solutions posted as well as the problems! Quite a number of cases go unsolved I think!

We all try to help but it's always good to learn about solutions too for future reference (and me, no sorry I've got no ideas about that SPi)...
