Hey

just got a quick question about my front wings. they are both slightly out of line of the doors. they stick out a bit more. is there any way they can be put back in line? we think they have been replaced at some point.

cheers

The wings are just bolted on, so should be easy enough to adjust....as long as you can find the relevant bolts..lol..

lol, was hoping donnylad would see this as i know he had the wing off of frank recently.

Yep as Mark said, there is a bit of play in each bolt on the wings, start up the top end/wind sheald, and loosen each bolt and push the wing in as far as pos and tighten back up.

If some one has been at the bolts before?you will see that,or you will notice a diffrence in the paint.????

The wings are also spot welded on!
If they've been replaced, its likely that they weren't spot-welded when refitted. However, this is good, because it does allow you to re-adjust it to align correctly

the bolts are:-
1 on the sill underneath,2 on the door pillar,
1 just behind the bonnet hinge which is a swine to get too, 3 running down the top off the wing, and 2 on the front behind the headlight, also the bumper is bolted to it with 2 bolts.i think they are all 6mm allen keys.
i have a pic somwhere with my wing off and it shows where all the bolts are..if i find it i will post it..

cheers

hiya mate sos bout the late reply ive only just spotted this, undo the 2 top bolts in the engine bay and the bottom bolt at the bottom of the door, push the bottom of the wing down and tighten the bolte then close your bonnet and see how much it needs to go in or out fasten the bolt in the bay once in correct position then get somebody to stand with the wing when the door is shut and hold it in place while you fasten it, to getto the top bolts you will have to take the first piece of plastic out from the windscreen .

ive not found a bravo/a spot welded on yet that might be mk2's as ive only ever worked on mk1's at the garage and at home.

Cheers for the help mate, thats quality. It's the bottom part of the wings that are out of line. The top part is in line. They just get gradually more and more out of line as they get nearer to the bottom of the car.

So its just those bolts that need undoing then? Not all of them?

yup it gives you enough room to play with, unesersery hassle doing all the bolts

Ok cheers. Which plastic part do i need to remove to get to the top bolts? Is it the scuttle panel?

Thanks
