Found in a Search, info provided by the member called "cipher"

The feed for the fan comes from fuse F20 (30A), which is also responsible for the Engine coolant temperature gauge, engine coolant level warning level lap, engine oil pressure warning lamp.

Well i am double confused now! Was going to check fuse etc today but jumped in car and hey presto it's working again. I hate faults like this. Hope its not due to the weather, if so it's only going to get colder here in scotland!

You don't mention which model you have. If it is the later one 2003 onwards then check behind the fuse box inn the engine compartment on the drivers side for signs of water. It is common for water to get down there and it can play havoc with the electrics producing intermittent faults.
