the thing i dont mind paying to get stuff done properly for a nice car i would rather pay that bit more, i just wasnt expecting all that and then them scratching it - they must have saw the scratch though - you cant miss it :(
how long have you been on this forum now? if nothing else you should have lernt if you want a job done properly dont take it to a fiat main dealer, well 98% seem crap.

Sammi,

I kinda gotta agree wiv dave fiat dealers are Sh*te (lets face it) harsh but true, it's like doing this :bang: whenever you get to a dealer.

If you still need to change the disks at some point ? I would suggest RED DOT 6 slots, I know the guys who own/run RED DOT, and so could ask them if they have some in stock and how much ?.

I got mine done soon after buying the coupe in Oct 2003. Although Aldo had to make mine up special ! (y) (sweet). Set number 5 he hee :D

Let me know here or PM either way. it's

Roo ;)

Roo that would be great if you culd get me some prices :D

Now for my next rant *stu will never guess what ;)*

On the way to Altrincham today was on the M60 and noticed the car was quite loud and when i hit 70 the car started shaking like mad like then you push it and it cant take much more it shakes. Then I had to break coz someone had cut me up when i broke the car seriously shook more not impressed.

When i been driving normally around rochdale it has been ok - since i had the work done yesterday, this afternoon was the first time it went over 40 so i didnt know there was a problem or i would have been straight back.

I think it could be the balancing has been knocked out while soring pads etc or like was suggested to me not bolts not tightened properly.

So i called fiat the guy who answered was the guy i was dealing with yesterday so imtold him the problem and said the car is shaking at high(ish) speed and shakes worse when breaking at high(ish) speed, and it has only done that since the work was done to the breaks yesterday - his reply was "i very much doubt its something we have done, maybe a tyre wants pumping up" i said no because they are fine and its since you lot dod the work. his reply "well i cant see its due to our workmanship as i doubt the wheels were taken off when we carried out the work on your car"

Sooo i asked him how was it possible to sort out my ceased caliper, replace the pads etc with the wheels still on.

he told me to bring the car in and they will take a look.

so thats another day spent at fiat.

How could he say they havent touched the wheels when they were doing work on the calipers, pads etc....

TOSSERS

TOSSERS

Dont you wanna just punch them in the face

Awwwww Sammi sorry to hear you have had so much trouble with Fiat :(. I too have given up on them and because I don't have a premium car so I take mine to a local independent garage I found by word of mouth. The best thing being they don't patronise me and ask my opinion on what I want and how I want it before doing work. I also feel they have tried to pull the wool over your eyes because you're a young woman. Hopefully with your comment about how they managed to do the work you will have woken them up. Just don't go there again :(

Please tell me yu didnt take it to Priory in Urmston.....they would try and sell life insurance to the dead!!

I want to train with the mechanics from that place, new brakes with the wheels one! I feel a twelve forty two coming on and all I have is a swiss army knife!

Actually sammi that sounds rather shocking, I would if I was you watch over the monkey who takes the wheel off (if they say please wait here bla bla bla - tell them (bo11ox) and walk into the servicing area and hawk over them see if the pads have been changed (state of the disks) and a dead give away to see if the caliper has been removed recently look for finger prints (as they usually ear those rubber glove thingies (please no funnies) you know what I'm on about :D

Sounds like they R trying it on a tad. !!

Do let me know where you took it and make sure you get the name of the monkey in the work shop who does the work and the manager of this dealership. I very interested to know where this is (can refer to contacts I have) in the fiatmotorclub and other friends etc.

Fiat dealers (n)
Fiat cars (y) well most of the time :D

Stiloboy,

in the eariler post someone mentioned (if I can remmember) my brain has left me today !!

that fiat have a check list that they check - to ensure that they are not liable for events that take place after the car has left the dealership (stuff they should have checked).

But in all fairness to sammi (it's one of those kinda - you never know things)
Unless of course you know the Dealership VERY WELL.

That's the ONLY reason why I took my coupe to Continental Motors in LONDON, As I know them.

Having done all work on my old cars (127's, strada abarths) I know when someone is trying it on !! (but you gotta be there to see them doing what they say there doing, other wise Really you can never know.

Sammi may be worth taking a really good look around the car once you get it back and you have time - to make sure all the things they said they have done they really have.

Roo :D

Have you checked the tightness of the wheelnuts ? Then again, the wheel would be shaking at low speeds but not at higher ones.
James twist and wigan paul aren't too far away from you, why not use them? I have heard good and bad things about both but they claim to be fiat specialists, and lets face it they can't be any worse than the fiat garage you are currently using ;)

I told Sammi to check the wheel nuts straight away, and so did Dave at one stage....

...but alas, never checked :( - and once back at the garage, they wouldn't admit loose nuts, even if that was the cause of all the problems [which now seem fixed, funnily enough]

ok think i can take over from here, thanks, I took the car in to fiat christmas eve, they said they rammped it and checked it but couldnt find a fault with it and then road tested it, - why they rd tested it after being rammped i have no idea  i would have thought they would have tested it first

Anyway when they told me they couldnt find anything wrong i asked them to explain how would the car do that if there was nothing wrong, so they told me it could be because i have new pads on old discs - i wouldnt have it and started making a fuss in front of customers so they said they would have a tech to go out with me on a rd test and i can bring it up to speed then see if it does it again, funnily enough the car was fine so i reckon they did do something to it on the ramp coz how can it suddenly be ok

I am going to keep an eye on the car for the week or so, i still think it was the balancing or something.

Matt - this was the first time i have gone to fiat to have work done on any of my cars, like i said in a previous post i wanted someone to wh had worked with these cars to fix my door handle ASAP. No i wont be using fiat for doing work on my car but like i said i havent used them before and for over £60 per hour for labour then i expected more quality sevice than what i got.

Also one of the coop guys i know pretty well told me to not bother taking the car back to fiat and get a specialist to look at the car - why should i pay foat all that money to cock it up and pay again for someone to fix their mistakes, thats why i took it back to be sorted.

Whjen i told the tech that the guy that answered the phone told me he doubted they took the wheels off to do the work, he just shook his head and said no wonder your annoyed. hmmm i wonder

At the end of the day, they have lost any repeat custom from you, and possibly even more if the rant was overheard by other customers...

Fingers crossed that the car all sorted now, though :)
