Ok so last night I was driving minding my own business and singing along to boys 2 men when suddenly a council gritter appears from nowhere, I follow him for a bit and he indicates to turn right - same as me. We both stop but he continues to cover my car in grit for about 30 seconds before pulling away(my dad works for another councils roads dept and they are meant to stop spraying when they are stationary), i managed to clock both the time and his registration plate. Anyways, continued driving and thought nothing of it untill last nite when i got home and saw loads of small paint chips on my front bumper.

Contacted the council compensation dept about it and i am gettin the forms sent out but just wondered if anybody had claimed against the council for this before? I fail to see why I should have to pay for a bumper respray.

Arghh im pissed off at it  but heres a few pics

yeah, dont stop til they fork out (then touch it up yourself and spend the money on new wheels ;) )

my dad hit a pot hole in the road in his BMW which buckled one of his wheels.(my dad has 20" alpina wheels on his car) he claimed aganist the concill for a new wheel (which would cost £1600) and he got nothing. the said it wasnt there fault cos concil vans use that road every day and have never had a prob and that because his tyres profile is so thin(285/30/20)
thats why it done the damage. talk about discrimination. cos his wheel are low profile they wouldnt pay out

u will need to cry and scream like a wee bitch if u want to get anywhere mark and i sugest u do that, the concil will look at anyway out of not paying.

Slightly off topic, we have a shop and one day we noticed a new no parking sign outside, the following week the guys go out to clean the windows and they are covered in metal shreds, we contacted the council and was told that we would have to provide evidence to prove that it was them. The obvious was being a new sign errected but this was not good enough.
