ok so here goes, the other day i did something very stupid, while changing a tyre on my car I took the wires out of my sub and amp without disconnecting from the battery,(was in a rush and i just seem to be that stupid) anyway after i unplugged it i noticed my stereo smoking......pulled it out quick and now left without a stereo...i looked over the old stereo and saw the use was blown so trying to save pennies i bought a new fuse and tried it(no amp or sub in car)...blew again with smoke instantly (me being stupid again)....what i need help with is if i were to buy a new stereo what are the chances of it blowing immediately? I have removed all the sub and amp wiring and do not plan on installing it again
It's a fiat punto 58 plate
also, when installing my stereo first time around with the wiring to make it work at all had to take the red wire and unclip it and clip it into the slot next to the yellow wire
if it helps i got feedback from the passenger door speaker just before the stereo blew the 2nd time
sorry if its really confusing i'm a novice at all of this and i don't really want to buy a new radio for it to go up in smoke straight away, any info you need i can try to provide
MORE DETAILS:
stereo: Sony DSX-A40UI
sub: 12" juice 1200w
amp: unsure was built into box it came with but had pioneer badge to put on the box
