Hi, the heater on my 1.9 JTD doesn't seem to get very hot, and depending on speed / revs can be quite cool, even on the hottest setting... I vaguely remember a old 106 of mine doing this and needing the radiator bleeding due to a air lock - does anyone know the procedure for doing this, as I don't want to make it worse!

coukld be the thermostat, i had a escort back in the day witch had a continental stat fitted which took ages to open up,

Thats something else I thought, but its the fact the temperature fluctuates that made me think of an air lock..

Someone posted here a while back to run the engine till it gets quite hot.. Keep it running.
You need it hot enough for the stat to be open.
Open the water reservoir and the bleed nipple on the right hand side/back of the engine bay and blow into the reservoir till water comes out.
Don't scald yourself!!
Marty.
