Gunsons Easy Bleed

I bought a Gunsons Easy Bleed a long time ago, and it's worth its weight in gold (it's not very heavy!)

It uses a spare tyre to pressurise the system, so you can bleed clutches and brakes. Make sure you use a fairly flat tyre: about 15psi seems to be ideal. I'd recommend it highly, especially if you're servicing your own car: it makes changing the brake fluid a much quicker job.

Also, from personal experience, always use the best DOT 4 brake fluid you can afford (something like Castrol, or similar). Cheap brake fluid seems to go off a lot faster, and can cause brake fade to occur earlier. Remember that brake fluid is hydroscopic (it attracts water) so don't leave it sitting around with the top off the bottle, and always use fresh fluid. Never put old fluid back through the system, and make sure you don't shake the bottle: it will suspend loads of bubbles, which will make for a soft pedal.
